Getting to Know Dell and Vi....

 Alberni Valley has been home since 1975, when a management transfer moved Dell from Park Royal Woodwards Store to Port Alberni . Coming from the hussle and bustle of the big city, we adjusted quickly to the slower paced life style surrounded by the natural beauty we found in our new setting. With an unparalleled level of services and facilities offered (seldom available in a small city of this size), we knew  this is where we wanted our family to be!

The awesome splendour of the area: the Mountains, Ocean and Barkley Sound, were a major factor in our decision to remain in Port Alberni. The rustic natural beauty of Vancouver Island challenged and inspired Vi's oil painting. Tutored by the late Master Painter, Bill Alexander, and becoming a certified instructor in the "Wet on Wet"  technique, (developed by Bill Alexander), Vi has a Koh-i-Noor Certified Artist certificate also.

We have been Canadian Power Squadron members since 1977. We are members of the local unit of the Canadian Coast Guard Auxiliary since 1983.  We are past directors for the local chapter of First Open Heart Society; are Sunshine Club members and volunteers who support various local charities within our community.
